ACFC Week 5 Honors


 

ACFC Offensive Player of the Week

Shane McSweeny, Wesley, Jr., QB, Bensalem, Pa.

Another record setting week as McSweeny tied an ACFC record and school record with six touchdown passes as Wesley defeated Frostburg State 44-19.  On the game he was 18-of-31 for 366 yards and six touchdowns.  He also became the first Wolverine to pass for over 300 yards in a game since the 2006 playoffs. Five of the six touchdowns were at least 20 yards in length. He also rushed for 31 yards for good measure. 

Honor Roll: Jonathan Briscoe, Salisbury

ACFC Defensive Player Of The Week

Paul Cynewski, Salisbury, Sr., DL, Moorestown, NJ

Had four solo tackles, three for a loss, two sacks and a forced fumble as Salisbury defeated Apprentice School 77-7.

Chris Mayes, Wesley, So., DE, Waldorf, Md.

Was a busy man in Wesley's 44-19 homecoming victory over Frostburg State.  Had half of his tackles (3.5 of his 7) were for loss as he was second on the team in tackles.  He added 1.5 sacks and broke up a pass in the win.

ACFC Rookie Of The Week

Brandon Norwood, Salisbury, Fr., SB, Bear, Del.

Made the most of his first two collegiate carries as he ran for a 61-yard touchdown and followed with a three-yard touchdown as Salisbury defeated Apprentice School 77-7.  Those were his carries on the day - 2 carries - 64 yards- 2 TD's.

ACFC Special Teams Player Of The Week

Brandon Hudson, Salisbury, Sr., DB, Delmar, Md.

Earning his second straight honor after defensive player of the week last week, Hudson returned a punt 79 yards for a touchdown in Salisbury's 77-7 victory over Apprentice School.
